Bayangolyn Am ruins
Part of the Orxon Valley Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site. Situated in Övörxangai aimag, 13 km west of Xarxorin.
The Bayangolyn Am site includes two earthen constructions. The first of these measures 110 x 80 m and is very similar to the Melxiit Tolgoi ruins, located immediately to the south of Karakorum. There are three mounds in the middle of the wall, which constitute the ruins of three connected buildings. The other ruin measures 140 x 125 m, and has one large mound in its centre, along with the ruins of several small buildings. The remains of blue and grey bricks and roof tiles have been discovered in the ruins. At the north end of the valley are the ruins of six earthen constructions, distanced 100-300 m apart from one another. The walls surrounding these constructions have dimensions of 20 x 35 m, 25 x 25 m, 18 x 20 m, 20 x 20 m, and 40 x 30 m.
