Geser
The Epic Tale of Geser, along with its several variations, is one of the major works of the Mongolian oral and literary tradition and a major representative of the epic genre. This epic differs from those belonging to the "legendary" genre, being related in a humorous manner whilst presenting a collection of heroic tales connected with King Geser. Professional epic singers, who specialized in epic singing from childhood, sang and refined this epic and passed it from one generation to the next.
