The mandal.ca website is dedicated to the investigation and promotion of nomadic culture and its potential role in building sustainable development models. Our major area of interest is traditional Mongolian nomadic culture—including both the indigenous nomadic civilization and the Buddhist structures that provided for its spiritual, artistic, literary, educational and scientific needs. This focus is reflected in our name, mandal, which means both "prosperity" and "mandala" in the Mongolian language, with the additional Sanskrit readings of "circle" and "community".

Our Values

The Mandal trademark signifies a commitment to ethical business as a route to sustainable development.

We believe in raising standards of living not through international loans but through socially-conscious business. Our goals are to create development and income-generation opportunities, encourage cross-cultural understanding and promote cultural diversity through cultural tourism and other activities involving the pursuit and sharing of knowledge about the nomadic cultural heritage.

In commemoration of the legacy and teachings of
His Holiness Dulduit Danzanravzhaa
Fifth Wrathful Noble Xutagt of the Great Gobi (1803-1856)

I did not overbearingly sophize
Nor preach with pride and arrogance
But having found a sense in this world
Spoke the truth of my dear heart.
