• Introduction of participants - Each participant should create a profile; it is not mandatory to provide detailed private information, but at least some indication of location and activity would be appropriate. Additionally, we might want to have a list of the general groups or categories of participants.

• Recommendations - This is a document that we will want to discuss within the forum, but we need a reference document outside it. The preliminary set of recommendations will come from the Adaptive Capacity research project; the idea is to get feedback from herders and other stakeholders.
• Follow-up survey - This might be done within the forum or outside of it; ideally the survey should be anonymous. We want to ask questions about how useful participants find the forum, what they think might be done to improve it, etc.
• Contract for herders who receive mobile phone units (or a phone) as a condition of participation

Forum rules

• Use your own name

• Agree to public access and reuse of your posts according to CC-BY-NC-ND license

• To contribute, must have an account and become a member of the CDRC; contact Naran (telephone, email)

• Must be civil. There is a "complaint" feature, and the administrator will remove items that are disrespectful or abusive.
• Must be on-topic. Our mandate is fairly broad, but this is not a space for posting private statuses, or writing about topics unrelated to agriculture, development, etc.
• This is not a space for commercial advertising, though we are interested in notifications about new products and business ideas if those can be helpful to others.
• Posts can be up to 600 characters (1 paragraph). If you have more than that to say, consider breaking it into shorter posts or put it elsewhere on the web and link to it.

Contract for beta testers

• We provide units and/or a phone
• Read regularly (connect at least 3-4 times a week)

• Contribute actively (at least 2 posts a week--question or reply) -> 12 weeks * 2 * 30 words = 720 = 2.5 pages; this gives us around 125 pages @ 50 participants.

• Reply to the survey in the end
