Content negotiation

This website is bilingual, containing content in both English and Mongolian. Content and navigational elements, where equivalently available in either language, will be shown according to the language preference you have set in your browser.

  1. The navigation menus and other non-content elements will always be sent by the server in the language of your preference.
  2. Some pages have bilingual content, which will be selectively shown or hidden using a stylesheet to match your browser preference. This includes archive catalogue pages and bibliographic references (translated titles are shown, if available, based on the browser preference).

If you have not set a preference in your browser, or if English and Mongolian are not among your preferred languages, content will be sent in English by default.

It is possible to override the browser preference temporarily using the language buttons at the bottom of the actions menu. This can be useful for example if you are using a shared computer set in a language you do not understand, or if you would like to read the alternative language content on a bilingual page. Please note that the translation buttons require javascript to work, and may not function on older browsers (this reature requires XMLHttpRequest).

To set your preferred language permanently, see the instructions at http://www.w3.org/International/questions/qa-lang-priorities.
