- The fonds consists of audiovisual field recordings and annotations, participant observation fieldnotes, interview summaries and transcripts, photographs, and collected documents from the ethnographic research project "Adaptive Capacity of Pastoral Resource Users in Mongolia" conducted by Eric Thrift in Yeroo sum, Selenge aimag and in Sainshand, Dornogobi aimag in Mongolia in 2011-2012. Many of these records are discussed in blog entries created by Eric Thrift throughout the research period.

- Files in this fonds containing information pertaining to individuals who do not wish to be publicly identified have been anonymized, withheld from public access, or scheduled for destruction one year following the conclusion of the research project, according to the wishes of the individual(s) concerned. - System of arrangement
Files within each sub-series are identified by decimal-format POSIX timestamps corresponding to the date and time of production (completion) of the audiovisual file. Each continuous clip is stored in a separate file along with accompanying media, normally including annotation/transcript files (in SubRip subtitle format), derived low-bitrate video files, still images, and metadata prepared according to the stipulations of the Internet Archive (in xml format).
- Scope and content
This series contains audiovisual field recordings of contemporary pastoral resource use activities, produced in 10 xot ail pastoral groups. These video recordings are conceived as conversational interactions with resource users, who demonstrate and discuss their everyday practices with the filmmaker.

[FieldNotes] Unrestricted access. Records from this series may be used according to the terms of the Creative Commons BY-NC-ND 2.0 license (http://creativecommons.org/by-nc-nd).

- Mongolian, with annotative commentary and partial translation in English.
- Physical characteristics and technical requirements
Original audiovisual files are in MPEG format; low-bitrate versions are in ogg theora (OGV) format. Subtitles are in SubRip (SRT) format. Audiovisual recordings and annotative subtitles may be viewed directly from the file description page through a web browser with HTML5 and javascript capabilities.
