Myangat
The Myangat population is concentrated in Myangat sum of XOVD aimag. There were 6 082 Myangats in 2000. In the beginning half of the 18th century the Myangats made up one otog of the Xotgoit, but with the occupation of Xotgoit territory by the Manchu in the beginning of the 18th century, this region was divided into five xoshuu, and most of the Myangat were included in Dalai Zasagiin xoshuu of Zasagt Xan aimag. Dorzhceden, lord of the Myangat xoshuu, rendered a large tribute enabling the xoshuu to move to the Xovd River Valley and Altan Xo'xii Mountain. Thus since 1766 they became one of the xoshuu under the authority of the Manchu Ministry of Xovd. Myangats have long resided amongst the O'O'LD and XALX, and amongst the DO'RVO'D in the north and east. Although the Myangat have Mongolian origins, they were culturally influenced by neighbouring tribes such as the Tuvans. Some Turkish clans are also included in this group.
