Glossary
This page lists all keywords currently defined on this site. Such keywords include:
- Mongolian pastoral products and resources;
- Everyday practices associated with nomadic pastoralism;
- Places in the pastoral landscape (specific resources, towns, protected areas);
- Forms of social organization, including kinship and governance institutions; and
- Major historical figures, monuments, literary works, and other key symbols referenced in discourses related to Mongolian (pastoral) history and culture.
The keywords system is intended primarily as an annotative indexing mechanism for primary ethnographic documents; hyperlinks to these terms are automatically created from uppercase text in documents registered in Moin (wiki) and SubRip formats. To see a list of documents that mention a given keyword, go to the definition page for that term, then click on the keyword (in capital letters) at the top of the page to run a link search. (Currently attachment files are not listed, but this functionality is planned.)
Please note that the glossary is a work in progress; some description pages are incomplete, while other reference terms are labelled in the documents on this site but do not yet have a corresponding glossary entry (such terms are capitalized but not coloured or underlined in the text).
